Bend PD: Pedestrian injured by Pizza Hut delivery driver

A 20-year-old woman suffered serious injuries Wednesday night after she was stuck and pinned beneath a pizza delivery car, according to Bend Police.

Officers responded to the incident in the parking lot in front of Pizza Hut on 3rd street around 8:30 p.m. When they arrived, officers found the woman trapped under a Toyota Camry, Sgt. Joe Pacheco said.

She was pulled from beneath the car and taken to St. Charles with life-threatening injuries.

A 40-year-old man was also struck by the Toyota and suffered non life-threatening injuries. He helped officers pull the woman out from under the car, Pacheco said.

Bend Police Traffic Reconstruction Officers and evidence technicians processed the scene for several hours. The driver of the Toyota, 26-year-old Jeremy Oprish, is cooperating with the investigation. Police confirmed Oprish was a delivery driver for the pizza chain.

Impaired driving does not appear to be a factor in the crash and no one has been cited.
