Bend Man Responsible for 4-Car Prineville Roundabout Crash

A Bend man was injured Thursday morning after rear-ending a pickup truck and causing a four-car chain reaction crash at a Prineville roundabout, police said.

Prineville Police said the crash happened just before 6 a.m. in the area of Highway 126 near the Tom McCall roundabout.

According to police, 30-year-old Bradly Vokes of Bend was driving his 2010 Mazda MX3 between 60 and 65 mph in a 45 mph construction zone when he rear-ended the truck that was stopped for traffic. The truck then crashed into two other stopped cars.

Vokes was taken to St. Charles in Prineville with serious but not life-threatening injuries. He was then taken to St. Charles in Bend where he was listed in fair condition Thursday afternoon.

He was cited for careless driving in a construction zone.

Traffic was disrupted for about an hour due to the crash. Two of the vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
