Domestic dispute leads to arrest of Bend man

A Bend man was arrested Sunday, five days after police say he assaulted and strangled a woman during a domestic dispute.

According to Bend Police Cpl. Joe Pacheco, officers were dispatched on Monday to a domestic dispute call at 429 SE Roosevelt Ave. While officers were en route to the incident, the reported suspect, 29-year-old Isac Zacarias, fled the area. Officers on scene ultimately developed probable cause to arrest Zacarias for fourth-degree assault and strangulation of a 27-year-old woman.

On Sunday at 2 p.m., officers learned that Zacarias had returned to the location of the assault. Numerous officers setup a perimeter and arrested Zacarias as he was leaving the residence.

Zacarias was taken to the Deschutes County Jail. No one was injured during the arrest of Zacarias and there is no safety threat to the community.
