Bob Maxwell’s Memorial Service

On Friday, May 31st, Friends and Family gathered at noon at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds to remember Bob Maxwell. While Bob is best known as a Medal of Honor recipient for his bravery and heroism during World War II, his friends and family shared so much more of his life. NFL Quarterback’s Refusal To Stand During National Anthem Sparks Nationwide Debate

Political statements from professional athletes are nothing new. From Muhammad Ali’s refusal to enter the Vietnam War, to the two Olympic runners who raised their fists in the Black Power salute on the medal stand at the 1968 Olympics, athletes have used their high-profile positions to take a stand about causes important to them. The beloved baseball pioneer and Civil Rights activist Jackie Robinson refused to stand during the national anthem during his playing days, saying he didn’t support what the American flag stood for. Tonight, NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is under fire for taking that same stand. Central Oregon Daily’s Anyssa Bohanan looks at how everyone from veterans, to law enforcement, are reacting to Kaepernick’s actions.

Madras Airshow Crash: Deadly Biplane Crash Caught on Tape

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are working together to investigate the deadly crash of a biplane in MadrasSaturday night. Spectators at the Airshow of the Cascades were there to see planes of all kinds perform stunts for the crowd, but one biplane did a low-altitude loop and hit the ground – a moment that was caught on tape by a dashcam inside a nearby car.
