Seconds before a train crashed into an overturned police SUV, Atlanta police rescued the driver, who had jumped into the police vehicle, leading police on a high speed chase before he lost control of the patrol car, and the vehicle flipped over on the train tracks.
The entire incident was filmed on officer’s bodycam and aerial camera from a police helicopter.
According to the Atlanta Police Department a man later identified as Mickal Parker stole a patrol SUV while an officer was conducting a traffic stop around 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Air Unit followed the stolen vehicle on a helicopter and watched as the suspect lost control of the police SUV and it overturned on train tracks.
Officers assisted by Georgia State Patrol arrived at the scene in time to rescue Parker from the patrol car mere seconds before it was struck by a train.
Atlanta Police said Parker was charged with theft by taking, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, obstruction, and damage to city property. He was ultimately transported to Fulton County Jail.
