A 23-year-old Prineville woman died Sunday after she crashed an ATV into an irrigation canal, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 4:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to NE Puckett Road. The caller, who called CCSO from out-of-state, said they were on the phone with a woman while she was operating an ATV and lost contact with her.
Deputies found a red Honda four-wheeler half submerged in an irrigation canal on private property. The woman was found dead upon arrival as a result of the crashed ATV, according to Sergeant Tim Durheim.
Evidence on the scene indicated alcohol was a factor of the crash. The identity of the woman is being withheld until all family has been notified.
