On Friday, April 22, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Gosney Road around 3:15 p.m.
Preliminary investigation shows that a red Toyota pickup, operated by Aaron Bagnall (34) of Salem, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20E
Bagnall lost control of his vehicle, slid sideways and crossed into the westbound lane.
The Toyota pickup was struck on the passenger side by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup, operated by Miguel Martinez (34) of Prineville.
Roadway conditions at the time of the crash were hail and slush.
Bagnall sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
Martinez sustained minor injuries and declined medical transport.
Highway 20 was closed for approximately 5 hours.
An east-bound vehicle lost control due to icy road conditions and was struck by a vehicle heading west on U.S. 20, according to Oregon State Police.
One fatality has been reported.
U.S. 20 east of Bend near Gosney Rd. at milepost 6 is closed.
Expect extended delays and use an alternate route.
