▶️ Bi-coastal group hug; Oregonians remember ‘Flight for Freedom’ after 9/11

The world was in shock and New York City was stunned after the attack on the World Trade Center.

There was a sense for so many of “What can I do? How can I help?”

In Portland, a group of friends came up with an answer – a sort of bicoastal group hug and a message of support for New York and New Yorkers.

With the support of Delta Airlines and some major hotel chains, the put together the Flight for Freedom.

And a Sisters couple helped launch those planes.

Sallly Bourrie has written a book about the Flight for Freedom called “Oregon Loves New York.
