▶️ Assistance League begins socks and underwear distribution to kids in need

  |

With Bend students mostly attending school at home, it’s been difficult for service groups to get supplies to kids in need.

For the past 25 years, the Assistance League of Bend has provided new school clothes to kids, through “Operation School Bell.”

They kicked off this year’s effort Monday, during lunch distribution at Bear Creek Elementary.

But it looks a lot different as they handed out socks and underwear.

They will travel to different schools this week, handing out 1,200 pairs of socks and underwear in Bend, Redmond and La Pine.

They’re also asking folks to fill out a survey to determine what needs people have here and what they should hand out next.

You can take the survey here.
