Simply Divine Studio owner Amber Meadows has wanted to help the community since opening at the east side Bend location nearly a year ago. However, Meadows wasn’t sure how to get started until she says she received the sign she’d been looking for.
Meadows partnered with local non-profits, including the community shower truck and Shepherd’s House to provide free haircuts and showers to those in need in the community including veterans, the homeless and families.
After handing out fliers to local shelters and churches to let people know the event would take place they closed down the studio Monday and set up shop outside.
Thanks to community donors, they were also able to put together over 60 care packages and nearly 100 sandwiches to give away for lunch.
The Simply Divine Studio team is donating all of their leftover care packages and meals from today to local shelters and those in need. Meadows said they’re looking at holding the event again in the future near downtown Bend.
