Closing Arguments Mark End of Bend Manslaughter Trial

Wednesday marked the final day of the trial for Shantel Witt, the Bend woman facing manslaughter and a handful of other charges connected to a December 2017 incident that left local cyclist and dentist, Marika Stone, dead. Witt is accused of hitting and killing Dr. Stone while driving under the influence of a number of prescription medications.

Today the prosecution and Witt’s defense team made their closing arguments to Deschutes County Circuit Court Judge Michael Adler, who is scheduled to announce his verdict on Friday.
